As the school year comes to a close, we would like to share details about upcoming events
honoring our 6th Grade students. Additional event details will be shared closer to the events.
Harman/Smith Social Dance
Saturday, May 2 / 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
– Oakwood High School West Gym –
Students only! A fun night with DJ, photo booth, games, snacks and lots
of fun to celebrate the kick-off to summer before Junior High!
There’s no specific dress code!
Students are welcome to wear whatever makes them feel happy and comfortable,
and a variety of styles — from dressy to casual — is expected.
(The dance is PTO-sponsored and not school-sponsored nor affiliated with Oakwood City Schools.)
Recognition Ceremony
Thursday, May 28 / 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
– Harman School Auditorium –
Families are welcome to attend! Students will be given class t-shirts
to wear to the ceremony and a class photo will be taken earlier in the day.
Cookie reception (courtesy of 5th Grade parents) to follow the ceremony.
Harman/Smith Picnic & Pool Party
Friday, May 29 / 10:45 a.m. – 2:10 p.m.
– Shafor Park & OCC Pool –
Students should arrive at Harman at 10:30 a.m. and will walk together to Shafor.
Pizza and Kona Ice will be provided. Wear/bring swim gear.
Students will be dismissed from the park at 2:10 p.m.
